TOP-J (Test of Practical Japanese) assesses both your Japanese language ability and cultural knowledge. Several vocational schools and Japanese training institutions recognize TOP-J. The test certificate is valid for 2 years.
TOP-J Test Levels and Requirements
TOP-J has three levels:
- Basic: Understands simple words, grammar, and expressions.
- Intermediate: Can manage everyday situations and conversations.
- Advanced: Understands academic Japanese, social topics, and professional interaction.
Minimum TOP-J Requirement for Studying in Japan
- Many schools accept the Intermediate level or above
